It's true, BMI is not an accurate measurement of health but really a guideline used by many fitness and health professionals. The Wii Fit is intended for an older generation and I am sure if a poll was taken you'll find more people over the age 25 play the Wii Fit regularly.

I know that Nintendo created the Wii as console system to promote more physical activity to its users, but I highly doubt they intended to cause self esteem problems in children. I can't imagine that they are hiding behind the fine print either.

As parents, if you think your child has a weight problem, take them to a physician who can accurately tell you what their condition is. If you think that your child has esteem issues, then don't let them play Wii Fit. It's really an adults game, plain an simple, and if you explain that to them, most will understand.

Let's not be too hasty to criticize Nintendo for creating something to help our unhealthy society.
