misc. note:  when i am not working on some startup idea, consulting, or writing, i work as an enterprise social media manager for a large tech company in the bay area. this is my personal blog and since my ‘real’ job keeps me fairly busy, so i only update this blog once or twice a week. if i come across something that’s incredibly interesting that i feel compelled to blog about, then you can expect a flurry of posts here.

  3. hi there! came across your comment on TC article on Google Blog Search. Am a news junkie and have been looking for the holy grail of getting news. haven’t found one. if you do let me know 🙂 nice site!

    • Hi there! Thanks for your comment 🙂 Glad to hear you like the site. Unfortunately, I haven’t found the “holy grail of news” yet so heavily rely on Google Search/Reader. Twitter is also trending high on my list of news sources but has serious search limitations. Would love to hear about your experience.

  4. Going back to “the holy grail of news”, nothing beats being part of the news, that way you are always the first one to know what is happening…;-)
    Seriously now, for me the “holy grail of news” comes from my network of friends who knows what I am into, therefore whomever gets some specific news first he or she shares it with me either via facebook, twitter or text message.

      Agreed, no better advantage than being generator of the news yourself 🙂 I completely agree with you, social networks are a great place to source the latest news and that’s the tremendous power of new media.

  7. Nice site for sure, and informative, and nice picture of yourself too. and nice picture at the top. is that SF…, I can’t tell. If you’re ever down in the palo alto area and have 15 minutes of free time, I am wondering about how to better integrate social media into the site i’m making about an immune disease I have called UC. the site is geared to help others. until then, I look forward to following your site, and learning from you Mia! thanks for sharing your thoughts

    Enjoy your postings. I was in the early stages of drafting an article on how companies should approach Social Media engagement, when I read your latest post, and realized you (for the most part) beat me to the punch!

    In the spirit of not wanting to manifest unnecessary duplication, I wanted to inquire whether you might be interested in/willing to have me repost your article on a non-commercial webjournal that I oversee (currently at http://ip2010.wordpress.com) ?

    I launched the blog recently for 2 principle reasons:

    1) To encourage our readership to rethink the hows and whys of doing business, in an ongoing effort to help various industries operate with more environmental, social and creative integrity.

    2) To give my friends across various industry sectors a platform to provide their thought leadership.

    While neither I nor any of my fellow “columnists” are getting any direct financial benefit from this online venture, I am hoping that the fun and exposure authors glean will be reward enough. By reposting your article, I am happy to redirect our readers to your blog, of course!
